Women Have 2nd Chance to Have Female VP


After a severe computer crash last night, and several hours of setting up a new computer this morning, I am finally able to brink you the news, that by now is huge news. That being, that John McCain picked Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate.

I think this is a great move, never since Mondale chose Geraldine Ferraro, to be the Democratic VP nominee back in 1984, has a women been on the ticket of either major political party. No mater what happens, this will be an historic year. Either we will have our first African-American President or we will have our first Female Vice-President.
So Who Is Palin?
Sarah Palin a Republican, is the first female Governor of Alaska, and the youngest (42) to hold that office.
  • Runner-up for Miss Alaska (1984)
  • Wasilla, Alaska, City Council (1992-1996)
  • Wasilla Mayor (1996-2002)
  • Served as the ethics Commissioner (2003-2004) on the Oil & Gas Commissioner (resigned, in protest over what she perceived to be the “lack of ethics” of fellow Alaskan Republican leaders).
  • strongly pro-life and member of "Feminists For Life"
  • unsuccessfully ran for Lieutenant Governor (2002)
  • Governor of Alaska (2007-present) - defeating incumbent Governor Frank Murkowski in the Republican primary and former Democratic Alaskan Governor Tony Knowles in the general election.

    1. Governor Palin is a good choice for McCain's vice-presidential running mate. She has executive experience as mayor and she has served 2 years as governor of Alaska. And the democrat media has gone on the attack by headlining the Obama campaign's idea that she is less experienced than Obama. Obama has no executive experience. He was a community activist, which is code for signing people up for voting democrat.
      And of course she is hot! The title of Miss Alaska comprises part of her resume. She will make many conservatives happy because she is pro-life and she voted against homosexual marriage. In addition, you can say she is sort of a little maverick and McCain is like big daddy maverick, since she bucked her own party and brought ethics complaints against the Alaska republican chairman. She apparently is fair, tough, lady-like, and a confident leader. She knows about the oil industry and would like to promote more drilling, so she would be a helpful person to have on America's side when debating the energy problem. She is good pick for McCain and America. I really think McCain's choice of VP is going to create alot of buzz. If you weren't too excited about McCain earlier in the campaign, this pick of VP probably will spark some emotion in McCain's favor. My gut tells me this choice will create additional momentum in republican's bid for the White House.

    2. Disenfranchised Hillary supporters, take notice! McCain has done you a favor and picked a confident, attractive woman for VP who also has experience making tough decisions as mayor and governor. Obama doesn't like Senator Clinton and it seems to me he merely tolerates her. He doesn't keep his promise to help her retire her debt. Obama played dirty tricks on Hillary during the primary; Bill Clinton said Obama played the race card on him. If you want a viable and effective alternative, you have no further to look than Governor Palin as vice president. Come accross the aisle; make a statement of protest; Governor Palin can shatter that glass ceiling and become the first woman vice-president and probably later president. God bless America!

    3. There are prominent Republicans that are now calling for Sarah Palin to withdraw from the VP position. Seeing her response to interviews they are now saying she is way over her head. I would have to agree.

    4. She was in WAY over her head, and that was obviously a BAD choice for VP, and McCain was just trying to get the Hillary backers when he picked her. Looks liek that little plan backfired.
      Did you really think that women would rally behind her? Please. Do not insult us. She has not shattered any glass ceilings, and "the lower 48" will be much better with her back in Alaska.
