My Transfer and Murphy Visits

Dang the luck. Well as they say, when things start looking up, Murphy moves in. That is exactly what happened last night. I was at work and picked up the intercom. Dropped it, as I tried to catch it I knocked my glasses off and broke the frames.

So know with my insurance payment due this week, I have to come up with the funds to buy new frames today as well. I really need to schedule an eye exam (as it has been several years) but that would really be stretching my finances. I still plan to get those debts paid off by March. Then I will begin, in earnest to get the rest of the IRS paid off. Perhaps by then I can even make some kind of settlement with the KGB IRS.

I really need a second job, but since I was transfered (started new location Sunday) I don't know what hours I will be working. I am sure, it won't be exactly set in stone. With some days, I will be closing, while other days I will be opening and still other days somewhere in between.

I have done some figures. Looking at PayPerPost, if I did the maximum of 3 posts a day, every day for a year, I could have the $5,000 to have all the little debts and the IRS paid off completely. That would just leave my car loan, which is now just barely over $11,000 still owing. If I applied the same concept for a second year, then I could be completely and 100% debt free within 2 years.

The only problem, I have with that is it would distract from the original purpose of this blog and make it feel more like a blog full of spam. That is NOT what I want. I don't mind some sponsored post items, but 3 a day seems like to much. I don't know, but 1 a day would seem like to much also. What do all you think. It is moving into winter, and the curb painting isn't going to be something I can do during the winter.


So what do you think? Give it to me straight. I want to hear your honest opinion. For those of you that don't have a blogger account, please give yourself more credibility by using "other" instead of anonymous. It also makes it easier to make a reply comment.

    hi. it does snow here sometimes, but not nearly as much as it used to. There may only be 1 or 2 snowfalls a winter that's big enough to shovel.

    Still it is an option.

  3. Hello! I think if you post everyday you could also post 1 ad a day. But if you just post ads everyday it may get crazy. Just my thoughts.
    I really respect your desire to get out of debt and stay that way.
    I am a single mom of 2 boys and I live on about $1400 a month. I have no debt, but very little savings and am working on that. I tried to get paid for ads on my blog but I couldn't really figure it out. I have a second job Sat. nights and I sell whatever I can on ebay for extra money.
    It is harder with kids as my son waited to tell me till two days ago that all his shoes were too small. He actually had a blister on his foot because of it. So I had to buy him new shoes. I should have had a fund expecting this kind of thing, but I am also working on that. Fortionately I had budgeted $100 for my electric bill but it was only $50. Too bad two pairs of shoes and two pairs of slippers were $80 (I have 2 kids.) The rest of the money came from my Christmas money. Merry Christmas boys hope you like your slippers. (it is cold in my house.)

  4. I really admire your desire to get debt free!

    As for the second job...for a long time I didn't believe that you could make $1000 a month delivering pizza's twice a week as Dave Ramsey says...until I met someone who was doing it! Maybe after you know your hours on your new job you could do something like that.

    As for your car...have you considered selling the car and buying a $6000 car that will probably last you for years? I actually did that with my truck. When it was paid off, I sold it for $19,000 and bought a $9000 car and put the rest to my debt snowball. The used car I bought still runs good - I've had it for a year now. I bought a 1999 Toyota Camry with 79K miles on it. It was also cheaper to insure than my truck and gets a lot better gas mileage. But, I really had the car checked out good by my trusted mechanic first to avoid getting burned.

    I work retail and am a member of the management team as well. I have no set days off from work, so getting a second job is hard. Since I also don't know what hours I will work, it is difficult to have a job before or after work.


    I have thought of buying a cheaper car, but don't have the cash to do it. If I had $6000, I would give it to the credit union and get half of my debt paid, or pay off all my other debts with it. This is something I have been trying to figure out for 2 years since I made the stupid mistake of trading in my $500 road hazard 1988 Dodge pick-up for the 2004 Chevy classic. I am still upside down in the vehicle, and with a FICO of 579, my credit sucks to much to get another loan.

  6. PAIS posts are a second job! If youa re trying to get out of debt as much as you say, then do them...they are easy, and you can incorporate them into your blog by only doing the ones that relate to your life.
