I just got off the phone with Cox Cable. I had called to see if they would be carrying Fox Business Network, much the same way I did the other day with Dish Network. The Cox representative seemed to be well informed. He told me that Fox was only releasing the network in the Northeast, to see how successful it would be, before rolling it out to the entire nation.
The reason is, they don't know how successful it will be. So before they lay out the huge outlay that they would need to for a total roll out, they are creating a test market around Wall Street.
This means, unless Dish and Direct Networks carry the channel come Oct 15, no one outside of the Northeast will be able to see the new channel. Not even, those in Dave Ramsey's area (in Tennessee) would be able to see the network's launch when Ramsey makes his television debut.
Again, unless you are in New York or New Jersey (and perhaps a few other states) you will not be able to see the Fox Business Network, when it launches on Oct. 15, 2007.
